This week’s B ME Bites Trivia Question:

Which of the following is one reason people are more likely to stick with a new habit when they start small?

A) Smaller actions require less attention and are easier to forget
B) Small actions bypass resistance by feeling more achievable
C) People get bored if they don’t see dramatic results immediately
D) Starting big is less effective because it takes more energy

Answer at the bottom of this week’s newsletter

Welcome to edition #59 of B ME Bites! This week is all about how one small win—something as simple as choosing water over caffeine or stepping outside for a breath—can shift the tone of your whole day. When life feels like too much, one positive choice can be the ripple that changes everything.

B ME Bites 59: The Ripple Effect of One Positive Choice

A small win today can shift your whole week

Some days feel like an avalanche of decisions, distractions, and demands. But here’s the truth: you don’t need a perfect plan—just one solid move in the right direction.

One small choice can shift your whole energy. A glass of water when your first instinct is coffee. A walk before opening your phone. Saying no when your body’s begging for rest. That single act sends a ripple through the rest of your day.

This isn’t about willpower. It’s about momentum.

When you make one choice that honours your wellbeing, your brain registers it as a win. That win builds self-trust. Self-trust builds consistency. And consistency builds the future you’ve been hoping to feel.

🌀 What counts as a ripple?

  • Drinking water before caffeine

  • Stepping outside for 5 minutes of fresh air

  • Moving your body for even a few minutes

  • Saying no to something that drains you

  • Finishing one small thing that’s been hanging over you

The magic isn’t in the size of the action—it’s in what it sets in motion.

🧠 Why it works

Your brain is wired to seek patterns. So when it spots a “good” choice, it looks for more of the same. One win can snowball into a better day. A better day can lead to better habits. It starts with one step—but that step has weight.

You don’t have to fix everything. You just have to move something.

What’s one choice today your future self would thank you for—no matter how small?

The answer to this week’s trivia question is:

Answer: B) Small actions bypass resistance by feeling more achievable

When a habit feels easy to start, the brain sees it as less threatening or overwhelming. This reduces internal resistance, making it more likely that a person will take action. Over time, these small wins can build confidence and motivation, leading to lasting change.
