Master Stress Relief with Easy Daily Practices - The #FAB3 Way

How a simple daily practice can reduce stress in just 3 minutes

Over the past weeks, various tools have been explored that individually, when implemented into your life, create a positive impact. These include meditation, visualisation, mindfulness, gratitude, self love, journaling and many more. What’s even better though, is that the more of these tools that you implement over time, the greater the impact. As you layer each tool on top of the other, they compound, and as they do, the impact they have on your life magnifies.

You have to actually implement them though. It can seem hard and overwhelming at times to implement every tool that you learn can be of benefit to you, especially when you are time poor, which many people are. Using the S.T.E.P.S Formula in the implementation phase makes it so much easier and specifically, the E, which stands for Easy. How can you make it Easy to do? The easier you make it, the more successful you will be in implementing the tool into your life.

Some ways to make implementing Easy to do, is to:

  1. Create some kind of ritual around it

  2. Use a catchy name, alliteration or an incantation to remember it

  3. Combine complementary tools where possible

  4. Use Habit Science

Introducing #FAB3! What’s that you ask? It’s a way to make it Easy to implement 3 extremely beneficial tools into your life:

  1. Self love

  2. Gratitude

  3. Visualisation

So how do you do it? Firstly, let’s start with the catchy rhyme to make it Easy to remember:

#FAB3: 333 to my most FABulous me!

333 stands for:

  • 3 minutes

  • 3 times per day

  • 3 things - Self love, Gratitude, Visualisation

Putting it all together, it goes like this. Three times a day, you take a total of 3 minutes to focus on doing:

  1. One minute of self love

  2. One minute of gratitude; and

  3. One minute of visualisation.

You can do the 3 minutes at any time of the day that works for you. You can do it anywhere. For each category, you can do anything that fulfils your interpretation of the category. For example, one minute of self love could be doing Louise Hay’s mirror work, journaling around self love, putting lotion on your body. Anything that you believe is showing yourself love. One minute of gratitude can be writing in a gratitude journal or simply saying to yourself or out loud what you are grateful for. Visualisation could be looking at your vision board, watching a mind movie or closing your eyes wherever you are and visualising yourself when you’ve achieved the goal you want to achieve.

Sounds Easy right? That’s the whole point! If you want to make it even Easier to implement, at least in the beginning, the #FAB3 Daily Journal has been designed specifically to complement the practice and also adds in a BONUS tool of journaling. It has a page for morning, day and evening, with journaling prompts around each of the 3 categories. It’s a beautiful resource created to enhance the experience. It’s a win, win, win, win! You can download it for free and print it if you would like, or use it as a guide in conjunction with your own journal if you prefer.

Do you already have practices in place around self love, gratitude, visualisation and journaling? Could #FAB3 enhance or help you implement these practices?

The answer to this week’s trivia question is:

Answer: a) Self-Serving Bias

Self-Serving Bias is the tendency to attribute positive outcomes to internal factors (e.g., one's own abilities) and negative outcomes to external factors (e.g., bad luck). This bias helps maintain self-esteem and a positive self-image.
